From Physiotherapist to Product Designer
🏥 My experience as a physiotherapist in Melbourne, London and Mauritius gave me the tools to begin my journey to comprehend individuals’ problems by listening to and understanding people
📈 With seniority, I became more inquisitive of how I could bring more value to clients and clinical businesses and sought market analysis skills in my roles in business development and clinical management.
🤔 Something was still missing
While I was living overseas, travelling, discovering cultures and people, I kept finding myself wanting to create and discussing grand ideas and solutions to global problems, but lacking in back up research to support my ideas.
📆 In my search for a career that allowed me to channel my creativity, I came across the notion of user centred design, including user research, the latter resonating with the modern clinical training I received to diagnose and create management plans for health conditions. To delve further into the design and digital space, I completed courses, notably
✅ UXD - General Assembly
✅ Project Management with Agile - RMIT (Victorian Digital Job Program 2023)
My aspirations
My studying goal was to learn how I could be the bridge between businesses, staff and the customers’ quality of experience.
In my pursuit to grow and contribute to my new found UX Design community, while continuing my development, I became a regular participant in the following groups:
Ladies that UX, Enterprise UX and We are Content Strategy and Design
Volunteering in events such as
- Design Outlook June 2024, Melbourne
- A11y Camp October 2024, Melbourne
- Friends of Figma October 2024, Melbourne
is also a means for me to give back to a community of designers who advocate for quality design practices, accessibility and nurture the value of mentorship to promote the design space to continue to grow and evolve.
Time to fly!
After my thorough initiation in the UX world, Here I Am! , ready to continue to explore my new journey in aligning research, creativity and solution design for users and businesses.
